Title Page:
- Title of the Research, Participant (Student)’s name, Supervisor’s name, Name of the Department
List of Contents
Abstract:
- An abstract should usually be no longer than a page, and provide a brief summary of what you are going to cover in your research proposal and synopsis.
- Give Background information e.g. prevalence, statistics etc.
- List down conceptual Definitions of the Constructs Under study.
- Provide brief overview of theories / Models linking the topic to the available body of knowledge.
Literature Review
- It mainly consists of review of existing relevant and related research.
Research problem, aim and objectives
- As a result of your literature review, you should identify the main gap in your research area on which you are going to focus in your Ph.D. research project. Once the research problem is identified, you will be able to pose the main aim and objectives of your research project.
Objectives of the Study
- List down main objectives of the Study
Hypotheses / Research questions
- A hypothesis is a statement that can be proved or disproved. A research question can be made into a hypothesis by changing it into a statement.
Work Plan & Methodology
- Step wise step proposed methodology during the tenure of the research work. Techniques in brief should be given in respect of specific experiments/observations only. Methods of routine nature need not be described.
References/Bibliography
- Do not forget to specify all the references at the end of the synopsis or research proposal.
