What is a progress report?

  • In the progress report, the research scholar should describe the current stage of the Ph.D research project, progress that has been made during the past semester (year) and future plans including schedule. According to the statutes of the OPJS University, Churu, each research scholar has to provide a progress report of the Ph.D. research project twice a year.

Where the progress report is used?

  • A Progress report is an important part of Ph.D. research project. After the first evaluation and providing satisfactory progress is demonstrated, the head of the department and supervisor will sign the progress report and give permission for next process. It should be also noted that the doctoral programme will not grant a travelling allowance if the research scholar has not submitted his/her accepted progress report annually to the doctoral programme by the deadline.


The progress reports are submitted to the doctoral programme twice a year. The first progress report is submitted after 6 months from DRC/RDC and then 6 month intervals after that. The research scholar is responsible for informing the doctoral programme about a different submission schedule.

NOTE: The progress report must be accepted by the supervisor(s) before submission.

The process of Submission step by step (student's tasks)

  • Write the progress report in prescribed format
  • Show the report to your supervisor(s)
  • Submit the progress report in the Department before the deadline.


In case the progress report is unsatisfactory, the research scholar has to submit again updated report before the prescribed date and time. If any research scholar fault to submit the six monthly progress report the scholar himself/herself will be responsible for the cancellation of his/her registration from the rolls of OPJS University, Churu
