OPJS University, Rajasthan offers a range of courses at the doctoral level. In any doctoral programme offered by the university Pre-Ph.D. Coursework is one of the most important section. Pre-Ph.D. Coursework is designed to help research scholars pose a question for their research and thesis. As per the OPJS University ordinance and new guidelines of UGC, the research scholars who are provisionally registered under the Ph. D. Programme will have to undergo a Pre-Ph. D Coursework. 

Procedure for Ph.D. Course Work OPJS University

The Pre- Ph.D. course work will have a minimum of 08 credits. All research scholars admitted to the Ph.D. programme will be required to complete the course work prescribed by the university during the initial one or two semesters. The Pre- Ph.D. coursework shall be treated as Pre-PhD preparation and must include a course on research methodology, which may include experimental methods, quantitative and statistical methods and computer applications.

  4. Literature & Review

Min. 75% Aggregate attendance is mandatory in the Pre-Ph.D. coursework. The evaluation parameters will be similar to that of regular programmes of the OPJS University. The minimum passing marks required in coursework of Ph.D. programme is 55% in the individual courses. Exemption in pre-Ph.D. coursework will be applicable only if candidate has done M.Phil. with 55% or equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale through full time mode from OPJS University or any another recognized university.

STEPS TO BE TAKEN BY THE CANDIDATES FOR PRE-PH.D COURSE WORK EXAM

The research scholar first fill up the Pre-Ph.D. coursework registration form, duly signed by Candidate and Dean of the Faculty, mentioning the Course names, along with a copy of fee receipt (Ist Year Full Fee).

  1. No change in the subject name can be made without permission of HOD/Dir & Dean.
  2. The research scholar can not fill up the Pre- Ph.D. Coursework registration form twice after submitting to faculty office.
  3. The Pre- Ph.D. Coursework registration form then to be submitted to concerned Faculty office.Faculty office will issue the Class Roll nos and will send the list of candidates with class roll nos to Controller of Examination, OPJS University.
  4. Without Class roll nos, The scholar will not be permitted to appear in any exam.
  5. The Marks of the Exam has to be submitted in a sealed cover, duly signed by Examiner/s for Written exam and duly signed by the HOD/Dir.
  6. The research has to collect the Marks Card from the counter of Exam dept, showing the original Admit Card.

Note: Please note that research scholars admitted into the Ph. D. programme of the department have to undergo the Pre-Ph. D. Course Work. No concession will be given to scholars admitted in any category.
